Meet the Staff
Richard Heemstra, Vice President / Owner and William Vander Velde, President / Owner – Premier Waste and Recycling was founded by Mr. Heemstra and Mr. Vander Velde. Both men posses extensive experience in the waste hauling industry beginning with their work with family owned waste disposal companies. Their experience has provided them an in-depth understanding of the waste hauling industry down to the smallest detail. They combine this experience with a relentless commitment to providing the best in service. Mr. Heemstra currently runs Premier Waste and Recycling’s Indiana division, while Mr. Vander Velde oversees the Illinois operation.
David DeRousse, Director of Business Development – David’s interest in the recycling and waste hauling industry began in college when he developed the first campus wide recycling program for Illinois State University. Since that time, David has gained a broad range experience developing and servicing comprehensive waste and recycling programs for a wide variety of facilities. For the past decade, his particular focus has been on working with commercial office buildings. David brings experience and a keen understanding of customer needs to his position as Director of Business Development.
Dave Brouwer, Packer Dispatch – Dave’s first professional industry experiences came from working with his family’s waste hauling business. Building off of this foundation, he has continued to gain experiential knowledge and understanding through his work as a driver and supervisor with Premier Waste and Recycling. Dave currently oversees dispatch operations for the Packer Division including scheduling of service, equipment maintenance, and emergency response.
Doug Keessen, Shop Maintenance & Repair Foreman – A certified truck mechanic, Doug obtained valuable experience working for a number of waste disposal companies performing vehicle and equipment repair. Doug is Premier Waste and Recycling’s head mechanic. In addition, he manages shop operations and performs on-site equipment repair with a focus on compactors and roll-off units.
Mark Kuiken, Shop Foreman – Mark’s experiences in the waste and recycling industry have been multi-faceted. As part of the transportation division, he has served in roles from driver to dispatch manager. Mark brings years of hands-on experience and attention to detail to his work. As Shop Foreman, Mark oversees vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair for the Packer Division.
Roger Newenhouse, Roll-off Dispatch – Roger began to learn the ins and outs of the waste hauling industry as a driver. His years of hands-on experience have served him well in his position as lead Roll-off Dispatcher. Roger manages all daytime roll-off operations and dispatching. He handles any needs, emergency or non-emergency, for the roll-off vehicles including dispatch, scheduling of pick-ups, and equipment maintenance.
Lisa Perales, Office Manager – Prior to working at Premier Waste and Recycling, Lisa acquired management experience with several companies in the Chicago area. These experiences have been an asset to her as she has transitioned into the waste and recycling industry. As Office Manager, Lisa oversees the customer service team as well as Accounts Payable and Receivable. Lisa also serves as head of Human Resources.
